TUCKER MIDDLETON

Tucker Middleton is a Democratic ad maker and strategist with over 15 years of experience leading winning paid and earned-media campaigns. She has produced hundreds of ads for candidates and causes and has overseen over $150 million in media spending.

Tucker is a Partner at the Democratic media firm Putnam Partners, an agency acclaimed for creating some of the most innovative and effective ads in politics.

In the 2024 cycle, Tucker served as a lead strategist for the campaigns of North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson and Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt – the latter being one of only two statewide offices to flip from red to blue anywhere in the country in 2024. Tucker also helped elect the first Black mayor of Tulsa through her work as lead ad maker for the Independent Expenditure for Mayor Monroe Nichols, and she created advertising to help Freddie O’Connell win an upset, come-from-behind victory to become Mayor of Nashville.

In 2022, Tucker wrote and produced the advertising to elect new members of Congress in Hawaii and Pennsylvania and, through her work with the Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus, Tucker helped take down a 30-year GOP incumbent to flip the Pennsylvania House from red to blue for the first time in over a decade.

In prior election cycles, Tucker was proud to help elect Governor Roy Cooper in her home state of North Carolina (2016 and 2020) and to serve on the Unite the Country media team to help elect President Joe Biden. During the 2018 election cycle, Tucker served as Putnam Partners’ Director of Post Production, overseeing the production of more than 400 ads that helped flip 16 U.S. House seats from red to blue, and electing Democratic governors in New Mexico, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

As an on-the-ground operative, Tucker served as a senior campaign official in some of the country’s most important swing states. Tucker managed the red-to-blue congressional campaign of Congresswoman Haley Stevens in Michigan, served as communications director for Clay Aiken’s high-profile 2014 congressional run in North Carolina, led record-breaking youth voter turnout efforts for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign in Ohio, and served as a spokesperson and digital strategist for over 100 corporate, faith and organizational coalition partners in the campaign to fight Amendment One, a constitutional ban on marriage equality in the State of North Carolina.

Tucker also has extensive experience in advocacy campaigns, including serving as the Deputy Director of the progressive advocacy organization Allied Progress, where she helped plan and execute media strategy for Trump Administration accountability and consumer protection advocacy initiatives, including a successful campaign to defeat a $3.9 billion media merger between Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tribune Media.

Tucker’s previous experience also includes Equality NC, the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee, the Capitol Hill Office of Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) and the political polling firm The Feldman Group.

Tucker lives in her hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated from East Carolina University with a B.A. in Political Science and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for ECU’s Center for Survey Research.
